National Tennis Rating Program
NTRP describes tennis ability in 0.5 steps. Most social players sit between 2.5 and 4.5.

Learning to judge where the ball is going; can sustain a short, slow rally.
3.0
Fairly consistent on medium-paced shots, but not comfortable with all strokes.
3.5
Reliable on moderate shots, developing direction and depth; starting to use spin.
4.0
Dependable strokes with control on both sides; can vary pace, spin and placement.
4.5
Strong shot variety, can hit with depth and power; sound footwork and tactics.
5.0+
Tournament-level shot-making, anticipation and consistency under pressure.
Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating
DUPR rates pickleball on a continuous scale from real match results. Rec players cluster around 3.0 – 4.5.

Knows the rules and can keep score; sustains short rallies with control.

Consistent on slow balls, learning the soft game; serves and returns reliably.
3.5
Comfortable at the kitchen line, can dink and block; developing third-shot drops.
